RIC temp #3135
Temp №: | 3135 |
---|---|
Reign | Aurelianus |
Person | Aurelianus |
Mint | Antioch |
Issue | 4 |
Issue name | |
Datation | summer 272 – spring 273 |
Denomination | Antoniniani |
Note | Maybe an essay of dies prepared for aurei, but a faulty coin: the consular bust is turned to the r. (eagle-tipped sceptre in l. hand instead of r. hand), the legend has no meaning. The two recorded coins seem to share the same pair of dies, but the obverse die has been reengraved and IMP C AVRLLIANVS AVG (V=Est. 162a) corrected in IMP C AVRELIANVS AVG (Emporium, 49, 22-3/V/2003, 649). |
