Note These aurei, all from the same pair of dies, are modern fakes as confirmed by metallic analysis (see Estiot1999/1, [52] and note 97). No original aureus has been found yet but there must be an genuine prototype: confirmation required. Same obverse die as the denarius R/ VIRTVS AVG 1487 infra.
